Join National Sawdust for a Digital Discovery concert with The Tesla Quartet, who will perform works from their “Alternating Currents” commissioning project in which Tesla selected 12 freelance composers whose work has been affected by the coronavirus pandemic to write short works for string quartet. “House Music” launched in late March and streams live every Tuesday and Thursday. Written and narrated by Gelsey Bell with music by Bell and composer Joseph White, Cairns is being created for the social-distancing New Yorker to meditate on the land we inhabit, sink into an arboreal temporality, and unearth the stories of a few historic trailblazers.
